How to wash merino so it lasts ten winters

How to wash merino so it lasts ten winters

Wool cleans itself better than any other fibre. Most of the time a jumper needs a night by an open window, not a wash.

When you do wash it

Use cool water and a wool detergent, by hand or on a wool cycle. Press the water out in a towel; never wring. Lay it flat on a dry towel, pull it gently back into shape and leave it away from the radiator.

Fold knitwear on a shelf. A hanger will stretch the shoulders within a season.

When something goes wrong

Moths, snags and thin elbows are all mendable. Send any Wexcombe knit back to us and we will repair it at no charge, for as long as you own it.
